Some guy made a machine that could do 10GH/s, but he only made a few and I'm guessing Bitmain either found out how to parallelize the process like he did, or bought him out.

Basically what's happening is that Bitmain is outputting 15GH/s miners slowly because they're production facilities are only so big. So people are buying these now, for obvious reasons, but only so many are being output to the market. It used to be in the beginning when these first came out, the profitability was like $150k/year. Now it's like $60k/year.

Yes, it will survive the difficulty adjustments. It will be perfectly fine and DASH will probably be worth as much as Bitcoin 4 years from now.
